NOVA ACADEMY February 9, 2017 To whom it may concern: Itis my pleasure to write this letter of recommendation on the behalf of Shirley Silva. 1 have known her for the past two years. She was in my Geometry class last year, and this year she is taking Statistics with me. Shirley is a wonderful person to have in my class. She is polite, respectful, helpful, and a very hard worker. There is definitely no doubt that Shirley is dedicated to her academics. The last three years she has earned a spot on the Honor Roll or Principal’s Honor Roll every semester. She also has taken several college level courses through Santa Ana College, most impressively, earning her International Business Certificate after successfully completeing the required classes. Along with getting very strong grades in all her classes, Shirley is very involved on campus here at NOVA and in her community. At NOVA, she has participated in yearbook, ASB Leadership, and even held office as Class Secretary two years. Shirley has also volunteered many hours at the Back Bay Sciecne Center cleaning the lake of invasive plants, beach cleanup, at her church St. Jospeph’s helping teach English to Spanish speaking parents, and with Loaves and Fishes helping those in need with food and resources. Shirley is truly amazing in that she can be so successfull academically and still have time to volunteer for those less fortunate, She always has a smile on her face and is one of my most centhusaistic students in class. She will be a wonderful addition to any organization or institution with her work ethic and extremely helpful, selfless nature. Any place would be very lucky to have her, It was an honor and privledge being her teacher.
