The bar chart shows the number of complaints made to the National
Highway Traffic Safety Administration from 1999 to 2009. It is
measured in the number per 100,000 vehicles and information is given
for 11 different auto manufacturers. Overall, it can be seen foreign auto
makers had the largest number of complains, while US auto makers had
the fewest. We can also see that, in general, the number of complaints
decreased significantly by the year 2009. The foreign automakers
include Volvo, Jaguar, Suzuki, VW, Toyota, Honda, and Nissan. Volvo
had the highest number of complaints in 1999 and the early 2000s, but
that they had far fewer complains in the later 2000s. Additionally,
Jaguar, Suzuki, Toyota, Honda, and Nissan had more complains in the
middle of the 10-year period than at the beginning or the end. On the
other hand, the US automakers started out with far fewer complaints in
1999, but still decreased complaints over the period.
