For the past 25 years Ive been coaching CEOs all across
the globe on how to be more productive and valuable to
the marketplace.
Most of the time when I tell people what I do for a living,
they assume Im the guy going around telling everyone to
work harder, sacrifice more, stay later at the office.
That couldnt be further from the truth.
I teach people like you how to get more done by wasting less
time. If anything, Im the guy going around saying, Come
home early from the office, spend more time with your
family, work smarter and earn more.
Maybe thats why people call me The Results Guy.
You see, the truth is that you cant achieve success unless you
first learn how to achieve balance. Success is a marathon,
not a sprint, and without balance you burn out before you
even reach the halfway point.
The trouble is, with todays ever increasing number of
distractions and pulls on our time, most people are working
harder than ever before and getting even less done because
of it.

The Most Important Number In Your Life


(AKA The Getting More Done In Less Time Compass)
Get out a sheet of paper or a sticky note. Grab a pen.
I want to walk you through a very important exercise. Stick with me
through the whole of the exercise, because, at first, it might seem silly or
too focused on the money, but in the end youll have one of the biggest
revelations of your career.
Youll see firsthand how knowing this one simple number will transform
the way you approach productivity, plus youll walk away with a useable
tool (one that you can share with others) that you can use today for
strategically creating the life you desire.
If your goal is to get more done in less time (and spend more energy on the things you love instead
things that drain you) then I promise it will be worth seeing this through to the end.
Ok, ready to go?

Discover Your True Worth

STEP #1
DREAM SALARY
First, at the top of your paper, I want you to write down your dream income.
If you are employee, write down your dream salary. If you own a business, write down what you
dream of paying yourself.
Got it? Good.
I will do an example along with you.
Lets say, for example, that I want to earn $250,000. Thats my number.
Dont limit yourself.

STEP #2
DREAM WORK SCHEDULE
Now I want you to write down how much you want to be working per week.
Do you want to be spending 65 hours a week at work, or are you more interested in a leisurely
20 a week?
Think about your life outside of work. How much time do you want to be spending your family?
Engaged in hobbies? Volunteering or socializing with friends?
Dont pass judgement on your desires right now. Dont say to yourself, Well, Id love to make $100,000
a year working 20 hours a week, spending the rest of my time with my family, but it just isnt possible.
Dont sell yourself short yet, because in a minute Im going to show you how you my simple 3 step
system for accomplishing that exact goal regardless of your current situation.
Just because you dont believe its possible now, doesnt mean it isnt possible.
You just need the tools and strategies that others have already used to get that exact result. Ill give
those to you here in a second.
But first, we need to finish this exercise.
To continue our example, lets say that I want to earn $250,000 a year working a steady 40 hours
per week. I like my work and find it fulfilling, so Im happy to put in normal hours to reach my goal.
Im going to write down 40.

STEP #3
YOUR BASE WORTH
Now its time to do some math.
Were going to assume that you take 2 weeks out of the year to go on vacation.
That means, that youll have 50 weeks of your dream schedule a year to earn your dream salary.
In my example, I have 50 weeks of 40 hours per week to earn $250,000.
Lets try that with yours now. Fill in the blanks below:

Now we need to figure out how much you have to earn per hour to reach your goal.
Its important that you do this.
Trying to imagine $250,000 over the course of 12 months is too big. Your mind cant understand it
fully enough to take the action required to achieve that goal.
When we break it down to an hourly level, our mind can process that information and use it to guide
us in our daily actions. This is one of the the secrets to high-performance achievement.
So, lets do your math:

If I work 50 weeks a year and work ___________ hours per week, that means Ill be working
___________ hours per year (50 x Your Dream Hours Per Week).
My goal income of $___________ per year divided by how many hours per year Ill be
working is $___________.
Therefore, I must earn a minimum of $___________ for every hour that I work to reach
my goal.

Confused? Let me walk you through my example:

If I work 50 weeks a year and work 40 hours per week, that means Ill be working 2,000
hours per year.
My goal income of $250,000 per year divided by how many hours per year Ill be working
is $125.
Therefore, I must earn a minimum of $125 for every hour that I work to reach my goal.

See how powerful this number can be?


Its an automatic compass for all of your daily actions. You now know precisely what you should be
doing each hour of the day in order to reach your goal.
For example, when you sit down to watch that Youtube video, or respond to that gossip email, you
can ask yourself, Is this worth $125? If not, then pass on it and find something else to do that is.
If someone offers you a side project worth $150 per hour, you know to say yes. When someone
offers you that same project for $25/hour, you know to say no.
We could stop here and you could walk away with a transformed mindset. One that would guide
you towards getting more done in less time.

But were not done yet


Because, as you may have already noticed, this number only works if you are 100% productive,
100% of the time.
You and I both know thats not true.
A recent study of Fortune 500 companies revealed that most CEOs spend only 28 minutes per day
doing productive work. As a CEO coach myself, I can tell you that most of my clients report similar
(or even smaller) numbers.
So I know you arent 100% productive, 100% of the time.
That means that we have one more step before were finished.

STEP #4
FIND YOUR TRUE WEEKLY SCHEDULE
This is the hard part.
Its also the most important and life changing.
I cant do this part for you, because it requires an honest assessment of your time usage.
You need to ask yourself, How much of my time is currently being wasted on less productive work?
Ive spent a lot of years developing strategies and systems for using every minute of my time to the
maximum. Right now, I would say I am productive with my time 95% of every hour.
Ive found with most of my clients that they are productive 30% of every hour.
Yours might be less or more.

Knowing exactly how productive you are right now is crucial to this process.
But for now, lets assume that you are equal in productivity to my CEO clients.
That means for every hour you spend working, only about 20 minutes is actually spent doing
productive work.
In other words, it takes you almost 17 hours to get 8 hours of productive work finished.
See what a major problem this is? See how it completely skews the number we came up with
from above?

If you are only spending 30% of every hour engaged in productive work, that changes things.
Specifically, it means you need to put in more hours to reach your goal.
And this is why most people are drowning in time wasting activities, and wondering why they arent
making any progress towards their dreams.
Let me show you:
In my example, I need to make $125 an hour to earn my goal income of $250,000 a year.
I can accomplish this by working 40 hours per week, 50 weeks out of the year.
But, if Im only productive 30% of the time, if only 20 minutes of every hour is spent in productive,
value added work, then I actually need to spend 133 hours per week to reach my goal.
Wow! That is a huge difference.
Now I want you to figure out your own True Weekly Schedule by plugging in your own numbers
below. It is absolutely worth staring that number in the face and using it to motivate you towards
learning how to get more done in less time.

I am currently only ___________% productive, therefore I truly need to work ___________


hours per week to reach my goal
(To figure out this number, take your dream schedule hours and divide that number by 0.30
This will give you the number of hours you need to work if your productivity is at 30%)

Before we move on, I need to make sure you dont get too depressed about this number.
This isnt the end of the world, because one of the EASIEST things you can do is to increase your
productivity. With just a few simple tweak of your mindset, a few simple strategies (which I share
in this FREE Webinar Event), and a few profound principles, you can as much as DOUBLE your
productivity in as little as a week.
Heres what I recommend you do right now.
In the above example, we are assuming that you are only productive 30% of the time.
Try running the numbers again, except this time do it assuming you are 60% productive. Now
try 80%.
See what a difference that makes?
The key here is your ability to GET MORE DONE IN LESS TIME.
Thats how you make your dream schedule, dream income, and dream life come true.

Putting It All Together


Right now you should be feeling pretty excited.
Excited about having a toolset now that will guide you in your daily decision making process. One
that will allow you to weed out the time-suck, low-leverage activities by asking yourself, Is this
really worth it? and having a guidepost number to look towards.
Right now, while the excitement is still fresh, I want you to gather all the numbers that youve written
down on your piece of paper or sticky note and plug them into this final declaration below:

I have 50 weeks of___________ hours per week to earn $___________

Therefore, I must earn a minimum of $___________ for every hour that I work. Except

I am currently only ___________% productive, therefore I must earn $___________ per hour
OR increase my productivity by ___________% to reach my goal

Rip that out of this guide and tape it up to your computer or workspace. Look at it every day. This is
your roadmap and guide.
