*Connecting previous learning target to todays

*Problem of the day-a student chose the incorrect
operation to solve the problem. Ellyn completed the
problem and then asked students to decide if the
answer made sense.
*When students arent sure how to answer, Ellyn is
able to break down the process and ask questions to
get them to the answer.
*During timed Math Sprints, Ellyn does her own at
the same time the students are doing theirs.
*Willing to try new things-choose a teacher from
each group to lead the problem

*When giving the class a choice (between 2 things-
arrow way or standard algorithm), find a way for
students to respond instead of all calling out at the
same time.
*Increase student engagement
*When trying new things-model or give more explicit
instructions-make a T chart of what the roles of the
teacher and student are.
*Dont be afraid to wait for each students attention.
*Dont be afraid to give a verbal warning
