Our 570 kindergarten - 5 grade students. He has worked with all ages of students effectively,
working both in small groups, large group instruction, and individual tutoring,

His expertise in instrumental music is apparent, as he works with ninety beginning 5 \grade band1students.
He saw a need for extra help for the students, and he made arrangements to have four of his U of A
colleagues come to Lineweaver to work with bands students who want extra help. He sees a need, and
works to fill it creatively

Lineweaver is a very diverse school, with 26 classes of gifted students, general education classes, a

primary K-2' choir, an intermediate (3 - Sm) choir, and classes of emotionally
disturbed students. Mr. Floyd has impressed me with his ability to think on his feet quickly, to make
constructive changes in his lesson flow and focus as the learning environment changes, and to "read" the
class to make learning happen for each individual class. This is not a trait I see in all teachers, and it
is certainly extraordinary in a novice teacher.

M r. Floyd has worked effectively to bring music instruction that ties strongly into the core curriculum
areas of reading, math and science Through music instruction, Mr. Floyd has helped kindergarten make

phonemic connections, 1 graders make science connections, and

kudos for his work in helping kids connect the dots across the curriculum strand s.

M r. Floyd has been reliable, positi ve, warm and consistent with the children, hard-working aand
just a joy to work with. He would be a great addition to any staff. And a positive and helpful
