I highly recommend Allyson Bowers as a candidate for a teaching position. I have worked with Ms. Bowers in
my role as Lead Teacher and Professional Development School Site Coordinator at Eastern Elementary School.
While a Masters for Art in Teaching student intern at Eastern Elementary, Ms. Bowers successfully fulfilled the
responsibilities of working with a diverse population of students. At our Title I school, she applied her skills in
all areas of designing and implementing instruction. She actively engaged in the Washington County Public
School integrated curriculum approach based upon the framework of backward mapping design and was
exposed to Fundations, our in-depth phonics instructional program. She created authentic activities, one in
which her students completed a service learning project of writing thank-you letters to local veterans. She was
also able to contribute her expertise with technology as our teachers and students employed the districts new
1:1 iPad initiative.
Ms. Bowers has built a wonderful rapport with the staff and students. Her ability to connect with her students
and her talent at teaching simple concepts, as well as more advanced topics, are both outstanding. She is
organized, driven, reliable and flexible. What impressed me most was her ability to handle a schedule change
or switch tasks within a moments notice and her passion for advocating for all students. Allyson can work
independently and is able to follow through to ensure that the job gets done as well as being a team player,
collaborating with diverse groups of teachers. She accomplishes these tasks with great initiative and with a very
positive attitude. Additionally, she presents herself professionally at all times.
