Title: The Possibility of the Use of Soft Power within Developing Countries

Abstract: Soft power is a common tool as a negotiating means in international relations. It is

mostly utilized by states that have the capability or the resources to attract other states that would
lead to the formation of alliances. Soft power also affects the behavior of other states by
changing their preferences. This determines the states' power in the international context. This
would call for the need of the usage or the utilization of the use of soft power among the
developing countries how developing countries accrue benefits, if not the same, to developed
countries, that have been using the same mechanism since the end of Cold War. Four steps were
provided. First is to set up a background on what a soft power is. Second is to identify how
developed countries are utilizing soft power in the international context. Third is to analyze how
soft power accrues that states benefits and its acquiescence with other states. This would further
discuss the capability of the soft power by selecting scholars in the specialized field of
international relations. Lastly is how soft power possible within the context of international
relations inclusive to developing countries, primarily in the Asia-Pacific, Africa, Latin
America, and the Oceania. This part will apply the analysis of the previous chapters to determine
how soft power will benefit the state. It concluded that the prospects of the applicability of the
use of soft power within developing states in the international arena are possible.
