September 20, 2016 WINDSOL HIGH SCHOOL To Whom It May Concern, 1 am writing this letter on behalf of Daniel Segobiano. I have been his academic counselor at Windsor High School for three years and feel qualified to recommend him most highly to any college or university to which he applies. Daniel is an excellent student. With a GPA of 4.22 and an SAT score of 1360, he has proven his readiness for the rigor of college level coursework. Daniel has challenged himself from the start. Each year since Daniel was a freshman, he has chosen honors rather than academic classes in English, history, and science. In addition, he is currently enrolled in Advanced Placement classes in mathematics, science and foreign language (the most rigorous levels offered here). Daniel’s love of art and theater has also influenced his class selections. Windsor High ‘School has “Focus Area Cores” with several different student driven, project based learning opportunities within a particular area of study. Daniel choice the Nueva School of the Arts which incorporated English and history with “The Arts” focus area class, He hhas been in three theater productions since 2015 and landed the lead in Pippin last Spring. In addition to being a talented singer and dancer, Daniel interned with a professional stage lighting designer and technician and was responsible for communicating lighting and music cues to the stage manager of a dance production for a local theater company. His decision to major in Drama and Theater Arts in college is a perfect fit. Daniel has also been very involved in his community and through Upward Bound, the pre-college readiness program through Sonoma State University. He is currently the chief photo editor for the yearbook, is a member of both the Key Club and Writer’s Workshop Club, and is currently a core senator. Outside of class, Daniel is also busy. He is the director of his church choir, and teaches photography. Daniel feels his experience on the stage and his leadership roles both in and outside of the classroom has boosted his self esteem, ambition, and “take charge” ‘Saeexr attitude. Daniel has faced many obstacles within his family from the divorce of his parents to a drug addicted sibling. He is poised to be the first person in his family to 0 to college and he is certain to embrace his post-secondary education, fully ‘ROAD WINDSOR. CA se SS Lao Counselor
