The good of the community is more important
than anything else
You are allowed to be an individual within the
community guidelines
Stability is what makes everyone happy. Everything
is predictable and stable so no one has to worry
 Why is Henry ford so
important?
in this world, babies are produced, conditioned, and
educated in an assembly line
this method determines every human beings destiny
every child is a test tube baby
fetuses are grown in bottles
women do not become pregnant or give birth
the idea of mother or parents is taboo
 disturbing?

Reading Brave New World elicits the same

disturbing feelings in the reader which the society
depicts it has vanquished.
the characters can avoid unpleasantness and pain
due to advances in science and technology
the reader cannot
 Control
The World State determined things like mothers,
fathers, home, etc. were a danger to world peace.
if controlled and directed completely from birth
there would be no reason to rebel or start wars.
Would you sacrifice freedom if it meant you
would be free from war, terrorism, hate,
violence, starvation, etc.?
