Handy Hints

Check you have the correct Declaration Form


Commonwealth of Australia Statutory Declaration Form is
used for all Commonwealth matters e.g. immigration, family
law

New South Wales Statutory Declaration Form Is used for all


New South Wales matters

Declarations relating to Police Penalty Fines


The correct person should be in attendance e.g. owner of the
vehicle

Certifying Documents
Make sure the whole document is copied
Bring the original with you
Documents in a language other than Englishneed to be
copied in the presence of the JP
Documents in Englishcopy documents before the JP
arrives (this will save time)

Certifying a large number of pages (more than 10) can


take a lot of time. If the JP is not be able to complete them
in the one visit it may be possible to make arrangements
to complete them later.
