This letter is to confirm that Michelle Joyce participated in the Wilderness
Survival Course that was held at the Ken Reid Conservation Area, north of Lindsay,
from October 15 to October 16, 2016. The course was offered by Fleming College.
The primary focus of this 15 hour course was to develop practical skills in
wilderness survival. The course topics included survival priorities, shelter-building,
making fire without matches, fire-building, signaling for help, rolling snare, wildlife
stalking, killing stick training, water purification, rabbit skinning, fish gutting, first aid for
hypothermia, signaling for help, and navigation. Michelle achieved all skill expectations
for this course.
