| would fike to take this opportunity to recommend Chaz Motter for a position with your schoo!
district. Chaz has worked as a District Paraprofessional this school year directly reporting to
me. inthis position, he essentially works with students whose primary need is that of immediate
behavior support. Chaz has worked exceptionally well with several of our adolescent males as
‘well as early elementary-age students. The students with whom he has worked most
successfully have been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and/or emotional impairments.
Chaz is excellent in following established behavior plans, and he has been instrumental in
helping to develop workable behavior plans by understanding the role of A-B-C charting of
behavior. He is skilled at using an iPad to track behaviors, moods, and finding specific apps to
support his work with students. He needs minimal supervision and I trust him to make good
decisions and judgments with regard to student welfare and school equipment. Everything he
does for and with students is always centered on the safety of students and staff.
Chaz demonstrates a tremendous amount of initiative and creativity. My favorite part of
meetings that are centered on problem-solving for students is when he begins a sentence with,
“What if we...” He works well with parents, staff, and other administrators—the students enjoy
his help in the tutoring fab that was set up at one of our middle schools. In fact, he is
responsible for spreading the use of Khan Academy throughout our district and in all of our
fearing centers.
Please do not hesitate to contact me at 810-538-1630 if you need further information or have
any additional questions.

| am delighted to write this letter of character reforonce and recommendation on behalf of Chaz
Motter for the positian of tutor and support services technician, I have known Chaz for almost one year
through his service in the MCC Gardening Association, While Chaz has not assumed an officer role he is
«a leader among his peers. Chaz is one of our most active members volunteering at both college and
‘community functions.
Chaz worked on all of our projects this past year including Flint River Watershed Clean up,
‘maintenance of the Kearsley Park Cultivating Our Community Garden, Annual Earth Day Celebration,
Food Film Series, and Food Justice Forum. Chaz took the initiative to lead the conversation at the Food
Justice Forum by'speaking first and giving input. He is always on time and prepared for the work at hand,
‘While he is a novice gardening, Chaz is more knowledgeable than a number of our members and has
‘extended his service and instruction to other members of the club on their gardening projects. Chaz has
also attended special trainings that have been offered to continue to learn about new methods of
gardening through the Farm Bureau. Chaz demonstrates high intelligence, and is curisity is @ good sign
ofa leamer and a teacher.
Chaz was among a handful of Mott College students that were interviewed! and chosen to work
with edible flint to do a comer store food assessmentin the north end of Flin. “Edbfe Flint is a
