"Indonesian Nursing Act in Indonesia should incorporate the legal aspect for

allowing nurses to prescribe medicines particularly for those who work in remote
areas.

Nowadays, everything should be managed. Thats why everyone in this

universe needs a rule. As a nursing student I really consider how important the nursing
regulation is. We need clear rules to make a good and also a right act. I understand
how difficult for the government to cover up this large area from the availability of
public facilities such as hospitals including doctor that provided by the government.
There are so many places in Indonesia that are untouched by state facilities
especially in the remote areas but everyone still have a right to get health care, so its
important for nurses to have a certain right to help them.
I absolutely agreed with the statement that nurses could prescribe medicines
particularly for those who work in remote areas. Although I know that doctor is the
only person who has an authority to make a medicines prescription. It is reasonable
for nurses to make medicines prescription in a remote area because nurses have
responsibility to help sick people with or without a doctor. It means that when there
was no doctor available in that area, sick people depends on nurses or other person
who they believed to care and cure their sickness. So, there is no other way except
making our own prescriptions.
The conclusion is theres nothing wrong with nurses who made their own
medicines prescription for some reasons. In this case, for nurses who lives in remote
areas or when there was no doctor in an emergency time. So the government should
incorporate the legal aspect for allowing nurses to prescribe medicines particularly for
those who work in remote areas.
