Description of how to implement in the class:
The implementation of this Basic Productivity tool will be done during our math
lesson. My narrated Power Point (PPT) movie will be played and stopped at
designated points for the students. This will be a whole class lesson. Students will be
learning and practicing how to count to twenty using pennies. The pennies will be
shown in small increments with more pennies being added as the movie plays on.

Students will be asked to count the pennies when the movie stops and on the count
of three give their answers. Students may be asked to say or hold up the coordinating
number on their fingers. This PPT will also be printed out with one slide per page,
front to back, and laminated. Teacher will turn the laminated sheets into a book to be
placed in the reading corner. This new Power Point book can be used and read by
students at any time. The PPT book can also be used during small group with a
teacher.
Level of Technology Implementation (LoTi):
This lesson and Power Point movie would fall at a LoTi 2 level. This is because Power
Point (PPT) helps with lower levels of understanding and remembering. Since the PPT
movie is being used during a whole class lesson and the PPT is being turned into a
book for students, remembering and understanding are the main concepts being
worked with.
Description of the sample spreadsheet and graph/chart provided *:
In this Power Point (PPT) movie students will be presented with the question, how
many pennies are there? Right under the question will be a certain number of
pennies. Students will be asked to count and answer the question either by saying it
and/or holding up the corresponding number of fingers. The next slide will show
students the correct number of pennies presented previously. This will continue all
the way up to number twenty.
Other comments about your proposed spreadsheet/graph/chart activity:
The hopes of this Basic Productivity use of Power Point and PPT movie is to extend
students remembering and understanding skills for the standard listed.
