To whom it may concern:

I had the pleasure of working with Aliya Hunter on her senior project, a short play of her own composition.

Over several months we worked on her script. In specific, we talked about what she wanted her play to be,
a representation of a friendship between two teen women in high school and the pressures they face in
relation to school, romantic relationships and loyalty to each other.
We also worked on shaping the play in three ways, in particular looking at the dialogue to build the
emotional stakes, track the plot so it's consistent with rising action and shaping characters so they are both
consistent and revealing.

Aliya was a diligent worker, and took notes very well. She tried many different variations of the script, even
trying at one point to add in Trevor. It ended up being much richer without him on stage, but I was very
proud of her for making the effort to see if the character needed to appear.

By all reports, the final project was a success, but I think regardless of how it was performed, it was a
success of her hard work to get a script into shape.

What every she chooses to do, I'm looking forward to what she does next.

Best,
