Maritime Law: Second Edition

Lamberto V. Pia

The book Maritime Law: Second Edition by Lamberto V. Pia aims to

introduce the basics of maritime laws to maritime students, and it also provides a

background about maritime law. One of its objective is to make maritime students

familiarize with basic concepts and fundamental of shipping to make maritime

students aware of complexities of the maritime industry(MARINA) without having

them to result in extensive literature.

The book is essential because it provides vital information regarding

the laws, specifically international maritime laws, it also helps students be aware

about the rules and regulations. It makes us aware of what to do and what not to

do, what is right and what is wrong. Not only that it is making us aware, but also

makes us ready for future problems on board and how to cope up with it or how to

avoid regulation/law violation at sea. The author wrote this book as a continuation

of his first book which somehow satisfies the needs for the material and also for

additional infos.

The book Maritime Law: Second Edition is a book full of information

that can help us students in understanding how things work in the maritime

industry. Therefore, I recommend this to my fellow students who wants to get

involve in the maritime industry, not only to the students but also to the ship
masters, ship officers, practitioners and crews because it can give us better

understanding about the maritime laws.
