Our first interview starts at 39 seconds. It follows a lengthy introduction to our documentary which ends explaining how were going to speak to the people who selflessly offer their time and support to those in need, like Nina Vental, who operates a food bank located Nina was in Hersham an important part of the foodbank footage as she was the only paid employee. We felt it was appropriate to ask her some facts and figures about the food bank as this is the side shes more involved in. It enabled us to gain a perspective on what situations individuals are in to approach the food bank and where they get their main bulk of donations from. The formality is reflected by the location of the shot and the type of mid-shot we used. We weren't able to include all footage of Nina however she gave us pathways to research and more knowledge into the topic were exposing in our project. Interview 2- Jane Coggins Janes interview starts at 2 minutes 32 seconds. As a group we felt it was also important to gain a less formal interview from an individual at the food bank. As our previous interview, Nina, was a paid employee we were interested in interviewing a volunteer. Jane, as shown to the right, was perfect. We spoke to her about the reason why she gives up her time and what encouraged her to do it. The setting amongst the warehouse was a key feature to the interview. As we were asking her more light hearted questions the background needed to represent that. Jane gave us an easy transition between Hersham into greater London as the interview concluded our findings at the foodbank. Interview 3- Tony Parkins Tonys interview plays at 3 minutes 10 seconds. This interview follows a montage sequence of London and a voice over explaining: . The amount of homelessness in London has doubled over the past five years. Redundancy, poor mental health, domestic abuse, and substance addiction are just some of the things that cause homelessness. We asked two Londoners their opinions on the topic. Tony gave a very empathetic interview showing his sympathy for the homeless. We found out he lives near central London which was an essential piece of information for the interview. We felt the best way to find out the conflicting attitude society has on homelessness was to ask the locals. He gave a new perspective by explaining his perception on the issue and how he feels some homeless people dont feel they deserve a Interview 4- Rupert Simons Ruperts footage is the ending interview in our project. It begins shortly after Tonys as the two swap in between each other to show the two conflicting opinions. He gave us a new dimension to our project by showing slight hostility towards homelessness being on his doorstep. What wasnt featured in our edited footage was him explaining how he has previously approached homeless individuals and explained various help they can contact e.g. the Pret a manger schemes. The aspect of age also plays into the two interviews. Tony is an older gentlemen and shows a softer mind-set towards the issue however the younger interviewee, shows a more negative perspective towards the homeless population. It enabled us to represent the majority of society as most of the viewers watching our documentary opening will be able to relate to some points made by at least of the interviews we included in our project.
