Shoes

I cant live in the awkward shoes

That you have left for me
Theyre far too big for me to wear
And walk in comfortably.

They leave such ugly blisters,

And the heels are too tall
Too narrow for my size-eight feet
And puke green, like old walls.

Id rather wear my Converses

Monochrome, with room to move
Or my Reeboks slightly faded,
Checkered-laced, and full of groove.

So, forget these shoes Ill leave them here

Half-sunk in soggy loam
Ill deviate from your footsteps
And find my own way home.
