The Great Western railway is one of
the most iconic tracks of Britain.
This railway starts and ends in
London at Paddington station. The
railway goes through the south
west of England and goes to the
north west of wales. It was then
founded in 1833. the first train to
travel on this railway was in 1835.
The tracks was engineered by
Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
Brunel lived from 9th April
1806- 15th September 1859.
Brunel was a mechanical
engineer in Swindon. He
was considered one of the
greatest influences of
industrial revolution. Brunel
also made designs for
shipment docks.
The Magic Roundabout is one
of many iconic landmarks in
the UK. It is based outside of
the County Ground (Swindon
towns football club). The
roundabout was constructed in
1972. This consists of five mini
roundabouts. The name comes
from the kids TV show Magic
Roundabouts.
The club was founded in 1879.
There nicknames are the
robins. They have played at
Wembley stadium 3 times (the
national teams stadium). This
is because they have reached
the league 1 playoff finals
twice in there history. The
other time has been in the
Johnston's paint trophy.
Swindon have been In the
premier league in 1930.
