I am pleased to write a recommendation for Dawn Garrett. I have known Dawn for the past few years
as she has progressed through the Early Childhood Unified program at Pittsburg State University. I have
also had the pleasure of having Dawn in several of my early childhood classes as well as a student
teacher in our preschool lab. Dawn is an enthusiastic student and her attitude carries over when
working with young children. I have enjoyed having her in classes as she brings some great experiences
to class discussions and activities. She is a focused individual who is determined to make a difference in
the lives of the children. She has completed two practicum experiences and a student teaching
experience in the Little Gorillas preschool. She always maintained a positive attitude with both children
and adults. Dawn has a fun sense of humor but also understands and demonstrates professionalism.
She is a patient individual and always treated the children with respect and kindness. She was creative
in the activities she designed for the preschool children and she was always well planned and prepared.
We all enjoyed the unique theme on "worms" that she planned for her student teaching experience.

Dawn was an active member of the PSU Early Childhood Student Organization. She served as secretary
for one year.

I would recommend Dawn for any position where she would be working with young children. Given a
position in our preschool program, Dawn would be at the top of the list of former students to call to
encourage her to apply, though I know she has bigger plans!
