Resumen: La epstola cmica: una lectura de la otra cara de Ibn Zaydn. Este artculo ofrece una
lectura que busca acercarse a la figura de Ibn Zaydn desde un ngulo distinto, centrndose en un
aspecto poco conocido de su personalidad, mostrando que la prosa de Ibn Zaydn no es menos
creativa que su poesa, y que su vertiente cmica no es menos importante que su vertiente seria.
Se ha elegido la Epstola cmica para el anlisis y comentario de este estudio por ser una obra de
creacin literaria escrita en un estado de nimo efervescente, lo que le infunde el calor de la
experiencia verdica, pero sin llegar a dinamitar la trama de una estructura artstica muy bien
controlada. Armonizar ambos elementos, la pulsin personal y el armazn artstico, se presenta aqu
como una de las claves de la creacin literaria, adems de todos los aspectos literarios cuyo anlisis
se ha procurado explotar en consonancia con el fondo del asunto y en armona con el tipo de
aproximacin elegida en este trabajo.

Abstract: The comic epistle: a reading of the other side of Ibn Zaydn. In this article a new
reading is offered of the personality of Ibn Zaydn from a different angle, focusing in a poorly side
of the poet, showing that Ibn Zaydns prose is not less creative than his poetry, and that his comic
side is not less important than his serious side.
The comic epistle was chosen to this analysis and commentary as it is a literary work written
amidst an anxious state of humour, providing the warm of the trustful experience, without
devastating the artistic structure of the story, very well composed. Harmonising both elements,
namely, the personal feelings and the artistic structure is viewed here as one of the secrets for the
