As an Administrator you can enter or select operating system command strings that enable users to plot their files in a variety of formats. Traditionally POMS has produced a pseudo plot file that is then converted to a format that the plotter could understand typically HPGL2, or Postscript, This method of plotting is being deprecated from PDMS (12 Series) onwards following the introduction of True Type Fonts. The old style plot format will not contain the new features, if a drawing hes True Type Fonts this information is not passed to the Plot File, PDMS (12 Series) now supports a more modern type output format for example PDF, BMP or JPG it is widely expected the customers will use the Adobe PDF format. However for completeness and to support existing plotting methods all the plot options are discussed here. To select or enter output formats, select Settings>Plotting Defaults from the main DRAFT Administration menu. The Plotting Options form will be displayed, 5.1 AVEVA-Plot Service ‘The AVEVA-Piot Service runs as a background process and can be used to plot to a windows plotter. Com Sepa ee 34 AVEVA Plant (12 Series) Project Drawing Administration TM-1302 Cl DikAntWhle © GiySeae Acad Se ‘The PDMS Plot Service can also be used to select and print pseudo plot files. ® this metnod is used in Design for 1g Piping Isometrics. 5.2 _Plotviewer Plotviewer can be used to send a pseudo plot to direct the plot file directly to a default printer. Example: Plotviewer /p FILE Plotviewer the Plotviewer program is executed with the following arguments Ip runs Plot Viewer in plot-only mode and hence sends the plot file directly to the default printer. FILE this word will be replaced by the plot file name Please note that the Plot Viewer program does not print ata true 100% scale, and therefore your print will be slightly smaller. Plotviewer does not support changing the line thickness. 5.3 Plotting using Plot This Plotting Options form contains predefined command strings for PostScript and HPGL format conversion and printing. For PostScript and HPGL options, make sure that a proper Windows network path to the chosen printer is provided. The System command string has several components to it. Example: plotcade FILE ps \printserveripsprint01 plotcade This is the name of the batch fle PLOTCADC.BAT and uses the parameters supplied in the rest of the system command string to specify the printing or other actions to be performed. This batch file uses the Plot Utlity Program to perform the plot fle conversions and the Windows print command to send them to a printer. This batch file is run when either of the Plot + File or Plot options are applied in the form shown after using the Utilities>Plot CE command 32 AVEVA Plant (12 Series) Project Drawing Administration TM-1302 FILE A plot file is created when a drawing sheet is to be output. When the system ‘command string is executed, the location of this file plot file replaces the word ‘FILE! ps This results in a conversion from the POMS plot file format to a form compatible with ‘a postscript plotter. This fle type for the plotter corresponds to a Plot Utility Program driver name, \printserverlpsprint01 This is an example Windows network name of the destination printer. Plotcadc by default uses the PLOT program to convert the PDMS pseudo plot file to a format that the printer can understand. Using Plot you can customise or write your own drivers bases on a limited set of supported formats typically HPGL, HPGL2, Calcomp or Postscript. 5.3.1_Example HPGL2 soft driver with Pen Thickness Support Plot Soft Drivers are held in a file called PLOTORIVERS the following is an example that has two HPGL2 drivers one in Colour and one in Black and White. + 4 @HPGL 2 Color Sotariver EHPGL 2 Black and White Soltdver a 2 ‘pallor 2h ‘npgl2-buhpgial PW 0.0.0 7, CE ADJUST HIGH, MAP, ARC 120, DEK! 0.001 YY, ECUTTER Y, MAP, ARC 120, DEKi 0.001 Y Y, ECUTTER ¥, PENS SAME. This relies on the ‘administrator creating appropriate symbol and/or text templates in the DRAFT database and setting up appropriate data structures and references in the Catalogue databases before this functionality is used. If the DRAFT administrator does not have the appropriate permissions in the Catalogue, then effective co- operation between the DRAFT and Catalogue administrators will be critical for the symbolic representation functionality. To support this functionality, additional elements (DRSSET and DRSYLK) have been added to the catalogue database. A Draft Symbol set (DRSSET) owns a Draft Symbol Link (DRSYLK) Design symbols can consist of geometrical elements or text or can be a combination of both, including DRAFT Inteligent Text hash-codes. Design symbols can be scaled and oriented as required. The 2D symbols are generated from templates stored in the DRAFT database. These are the Symbol ‘Templates (SYTM) and the Text Label Tempiates (TXTM), used for generation of geometric elements or text elements, respectively. Refer to Basic Hierarchy for a diagram of the DRAFT database hierarchy. ‘The data defining which templates to use for @ given design element, and under which circumstances, is stored in the Catalogue database. This allows several templates to be associated with a design element so that it can be represented differently in different types of Views. The representation of a light fiting, for ‘example, could depend on both the View direction (i.e. plan or elevation) and the View classification (e.g. Room Design, Cabling, etc) 7.4.1 Project Structure and Distribution When symbolic representation is used in a drawing, the same Draft design symbol should be used under the same conditions across an organisation irrespective of its size. Draft design symbols will usually be held in 2 DRAFT (12. PADD) database in one of the Multiple Databases (MDB) in the master project (MAS) in addition to the master discipline catalogues that already reside there. This DRAFT database will contain the templates for 2D design symbols that are referenced by the Catalogue. Thus, DRAFT design symbols will be made available in user projects by including a foreign reference to the MDB in the master project, 50 AVEVA Piant (12 Series) Project Drawing Administration TM-1302 ‘As the DRAFT design symbol libraries will be stored within a foreign project database, it will be the responsibilty of the system/project administrator for the foreign project to distribute them globally. The ‘AVEVA Global application only distributes databases for a given project. This will enable the DESSYM to be scaled to the correct size for the design element, that itis intended to replace in the DRAFT view, regardless of the aspect ratio of the design element. 7.4.4 _Orientating Design Symbols ‘The DRAFT administrator or the symbol designer must associate the symbol template (SYTM) or text template (TXTM) with the orientation of the component in the Catalogue that the design symbol (DESSYM) will represent. This is achieved either by selecting an existing Ppoint on the Catalogue Component or by creating a new P-point. Then the value of the PPDI attribute on the SYTM or TXTM must be set to the value of the P-point Number (%INUM) attribute on the Catalogue Component. This will enable the 2D Symbology functionality to use the direction of the P-point, which is determined by the P-point direction (PTCD) attribute on the P-point element, for aligning the x-axis of the SYTM or TXTM. 54 OVOVI0BI9 NN GOVON AVEVA Plant (12 Series) Project Drawing Administration TM-1302 Gano Meee Create a LIBY and SYLB. Each SYTM may comprise any combination of 2D primitives, text primitives (TEXP) and existing symbol instances (SYMB), Each TXTM holds specific or ‘intelligent (i.e. #-coded) text ‘The DEPT Master_Libraries, supplied as part of the standard product, contains three LIBYs holding label templates, namely DRA/MAS/LABELS/GEN-LABELS (general labels), DRA/MAS/LABELS /PRO-LABELS. Select Draw>Primitives from the main bar menu and create the required symbol, 2D primitives also includes TEXP elements, that can contain inteligent text strings. {As each template is created, use the cursor to position its marker, which is the origin of the template. The marker is the point that the leader line will be taken from. As each primitive is created the definition ofits size may be made using the rubber banding or, if already set via Edit>Primitives. If the grid-snap function prevents setting the precise position or size that is required, either turn snapping off temporarily or mosify the attributes of the primitive later. AVEVA Plant (12 Series) Project Drawing Administration TM-1302 Remember, when positioning the component parts of the SYTM, where the origin is placed. It is also important to remember, that all primitives under a SYTM will be drawn when that label template is selected by the user. ‘The SYTM's can also contain intelligent text 9.3.1_Adding Annotation via a Backing Sheet When creating each SYTM, the primitives are created with respect to the SYTM origin. Itis helpful to the Users, if this origin point is identified. It may not be desirable to have the MRKP element as part of the selectable symbol instance. There may also be a requirement to add a descriptive note to the SYTM, as displayed on the SYLB sheet, but not to be selected for display on the drawing. The solution is to position the origin marker and descriptive text on a backing sheet that is displayed with, but does not form part of the SYLB sheet. It will be necessary to change back to Sheet library administration and create a backing sheet (BACK) with the same dimensions as the SYLB sheet. For each required group of annotations on the SYLB, create a NOTE and position at the appropriate point on the BACK. ‘Change back to Symbol Library administration mode. Select Mocity>Symbol library>Definition and set the backing sheet reference to the corresponding name of the BACK that has been created, ‘Once the symbol definition is complete change the User Defaults for Symbolic Labels to point at the new Label Library. 9.4 Creating Text Templates Unlike SYTMs, TXTMs have no members. Instead, they hold text strings to which users can refer when creating GLABs to add to their drawings. These text strings can include #-coded ‘intelligent’ text, which is, replaced by the corresponding attribute settings from the Design DB when the labels are displayed on the drawing sheets. Each TXTM automatically includes a Label Frame, although this can be switched off if itis not required In order to see the effects of adding individual TXTMs as the LALB contents are developed, open a 2D View window and add the LALB to the display. Select Create>Text Template and the Create TXTM form is displayed, enter a name JAVEVA-LABEL-LIBY/EQUIP and click OK ‘The Point Construction Option Form is displayed; position the origin of the TXTM, 65 AVEVA Plant (12 Series) Project Drawing Administration TM-1302 When the TXTM element has been positioned the Modify Text form will be displayed Enter the required text via the Edit Buffer in the usual way, noting the following features which are specific to this version of the Text Ecitor: A number of predefined intelligent text values are available, click on the Intelligent Texts, button and the Intelligent Text form is displayed. Select the text required. Click either the Append or insert button. The Insert option will insert the text at the current position of the cursor in the text string; the Append option will append the text to the current displayed text string, To save unnecessary typing, in the Modify Text form, text can be copied from an existing TXTM into the current TXTM which is being defining. To do so, ensure that the TXTM which is to be copied is visible in the 2D View and then click the Copy button. When prompted, use the cursor to identify the TXTM to bbe copied; the text will be inserted in the Edit Window. BARSSSSSS When the required text is displayed in the Edit Window, click Apply to copy the string to the attribute of the TXTM. we ew Ga 9.5 _ Searching Label Libraries When a DRAFT application user attempts to create a new symbolic label, the application searches for relevant LALBS in a specific sequence. It looks at each LIBY in the DEPT in the listed order unti it finds one which contains appropriate LALBs. It then adds this LIBY and all subsequent LIBYs to the scrollable list on the Library form unti it finds @ LIBY which does not contain a relevant LALB. No further searching is carried out. 66 AVEVA Plant (12 Series) Project Drawing Administration TM-1302 This principle allows the Administrator, to hide LIBYs from the user by adding them to the end of the DEPT's, members list. (Alternatively, all reference LIBYs could be in a separate DEPT, but this would add extra DEPTS to the user's Members List.) Itis important to note that, due to this method of searching for the LIBYs, all Label Libraries must be grouped together under the same Department if they are all to be available to the user. Bene seuees Create a Library and Label Library Create at least two Label Templates. Create some labels using the different 2D primitives plus using some of the #f characters. Remember symbolic labels have 2D Primitives as well as text, whereas general labels have only text Alternatively create a symbolic Control Valve Label to add some intelligent text #NAME(c2:) and an Equipment label ‘Add some descriptive text on a Backing Sheet. Change the default settings to now point to the new library for the label creation. ‘Asa Designer, display a sheet and add the new labels to it. 67 AVEVA Piant (12 Series) Project Drawing Administration TM-1302 Chapter 10 eens This chapter explains how to set up Styles (STYL), within Representation Libraries (RPLB), which define the detailed representation which a general user will use for the various aspects of the drawing ‘The DEPT Project_Libraries, supplied as part of the standard product, contains several LIBYs holding examples of different styles. This chapter explains when and how this should be done. 414.1_Updating Picture Files This operation should be carried out to recover from a corrupt picture file, such as may result from a RECONFIGURER operation, or if an attempt has been made to display a VIEW created using a previous version of DRAFT. ‘Annotation graphics will always be restored but Design graphics may not be. In all such cases, a message alert will be displayed instructing you to carry out the update operation, and this is the only time that the operation should be carried out Select Graphics > System Update > Picture from the main menu bar. 14.2 Updating Template Instan: 9 This option (valid at SHEE, BACK, OVER, SYLB or LALB level, or above) scans the database hierarchy and updates all those parts of picture files that use the graphics ‘instancing’ mechanism, For example, a SYMB is an ‘instance! of a SYTM. OLAY and BACK elements are in the same category. This update should be used to generate the correct graphics after the LIBNO NEW oplion has been used in RECONFIGURER. Select Graphics > System Update » Instances from the main menu bar. 14.3_Updating Cross-DB Reference Attributes This option updates all Draft element attributes that refer to elements in the Design database. The settings of such attributes exist as database reference numbers. The updating function operates on the current element. It should only be used if the Design database has been deleted and rebuilt from macros. The supplied system refers to a TRLB named DRAIPRJIADP/TAGGSIPGA that contains the TRST's that the user accesses on the tagging creation form. Each TRST is represented by toggle gadgets on the user's form. In order to create additional TRLB elements for tagging, simply create the TRSTS and their TAGR elements with tag rules and tagging templates as required. The only important consideration for the ADP system is that the last part of the TRSTs name is used on the user's form, and so this should describes the tagging available to the user. For example, if the TRST is named /MYTAG/Instruments, then Instruments will appear on the user's tagging creation form. Some example tagging templates are provided in the label libraries /ORAIPRJIADP/TAGGS/TXTM IDRA/PRJ/ADP/TAGGSISYTM, ‘ cp fos These are examples and it is expected that additional symbol and text templates will be required, 126 AVEVA Plant (12 Series) Project Drawing Administration TM-1302 15.10 Creating a Schedule Library The schedule facilities used in ADP are based on the standard DRAFT automatic tagging functionality. Because SDADP Sheets are typically fairy simple, the graphies can be generated quickly each time you want to view a Sheet, and so by default, no picture files are created for Sheets produced by the SDADP application, However, this means that whenever a Sheet is displayed or plotted it will reflect the current state of the DESIGN database and not the state of the DESIGN database at the time of the last Update Design operation. All branch members and specification components possess a DPFN attribute, which can be set to hold a Detail Plot File Name. Dpfname ‘/c:\tapping.plt’ ISODRAFT can automatically pick up these plot files when detailing and place them on the isometric. The detail plot is output on the same drawing sheet as the component with which itis associated. Detail Area output is switched on using the ‘Detail Plots’ form. The plots can be positioned by stacking them from a position and in a direction, Up to 20 Detail Areas can be plotted on a single isometric, “— 3D View of Instrument Flanges 2D Detail Plot Detail plots may also include the parameterised values of system and user defined attributes (UDAs), you select which attributes to show, the x & y co-ordinates, relative to the origin of the plot file, the character height and the angle at which the text is to be plotted The different attribute types are displayed as follows: - Array type attributes are shown separated by a new line. _ Reference attributes are expanded to give the full PDMS name. Logical attributes are output as T or F. - Position, orientation and direction attributes are separated by spaces. ey Example Detail on Plot 172 AVEVA Plant (12 Series) Project Drawing Administration TM-1302 ‘The form is split down into various parts of the Isometric Be rapues mace : oe y —— And a choice of Default, User or no tox All of the default texts output on an isometric can be changed or remioved using these forms. 173 AVEVA Plant (12 Series) Project Drawing Administration TM-1302 17.22 Change Highlighting Change highlighting represents changed items on a drawing in a different colour. Change Highlighting enables you to set standards for how changed items on drawings will be represented By default, Change Highlighting is OFF. If set ON, then all changed components complying with the defined change highlighting rules, will be shown in the specified highlight colour. ‘A Change Rule applies to components only. For table entries, material list entries, annotations and Dimensions; these will always be drawn in the specified highlight colour if they have changed, The default highlight colour is red. The user may specify one of 12 pen colours to represent the changed items. In order to determine which items have changed a Comparison Date must be specified, this determines the baseline in time for the drawing. Any item that has changed since this baseline time will then be subject to Change Highlighting. The Comparison Date is entered either as an actual dateltime or as a Stamp. 174 AVEVA Piant (12 Series) Project Drawing Administration TM-1302 17.23_Compipe Interface Used for outputting data to the Compipe module of the Comdace program. User specific facility 17.24 IDF Processing Enables system commands to be executed either before of after Isodraw processes the intermediate transfer file. Baoan Using the above examples: Create a new Isometric Option file, modify the Material list position it on the right hand side, change the text size to 3mm and code length to 12 characters. Reposition some text for example “NAME" Check that the Isometric produced is as expected. Create a simple Pict file and attach it to a suitable design item, produce an Isometric containing @ Detall Plot Set Change Highlighting, modify a suitable pipe and check that Change Highlighting is shown, remember to set the comparison date. 20000000000000000000000000000000090999090999999999945
