Remembering Understanding Applying Analyzing Evaluating Creating
Description of how to implement in the class: Today in the classroom, we will talk about a Georgia
historical figure, Martin Luther King Jr. I will ask the students if they know anything about MLK and I
will write it down on an anchor chart that we will create in class. We will start with watching a Brain Pop
video about MLK and his life. The students will write down new information, we learned from the
BrainPop video. We will write down the new information on the anchor chart we created.
We will read more about the life and contributions Martin Luther King Jr. accomplished during his life
time. The students will draw something MLK did during his time. I will choose two students to present
their artwork to the classroom.
We will create a slideshow with the artwork the students created and display it for Black History Month.
The students will research another famous African American that helped change our country and how
their actions impacted us, today. The students will decide the type of media they will use to present their
famous person. I will add their artwork on our classroom blog for others to see.
