Natural Law

Aquinass theory of the natural law should be seen as providing us with a foundation for
the moral life that is based on a substantive or metaphysical theory of human nature -
AQUINAS AND THE NATURAL LAW

Natural Law is notably defined by Sir Thomas Aquinas as an ethical theory that guides
human being to act morally (right or wrong) based on human nature of doing goods and
for reasons. Although there are many principles of right action in Natural Law, there are
still based on the first principle: good should be done and evil is to be avoided.

Examples:
It is known that to take a thing without paying for it is stealing however, under the natural
law, in the circumstance of extreme necessity that a mother need to feed her hungry
children, it is ethical to steal food.
