Chapter Six Presentation -Asian Americans Lesson Plan
Objective: To convey general perception of Asian Americans
SWBAT avoid stereotyping Asian Americans and their culture.
SWBAT understand the strengths and weaknesses of Asian Americans.
SWBAT see the Asian American population growth in the US and around the world.
SWBAT comprehend the different religions, subgroups, and languages of Asian Americans.
Audiences:
EDU 280 ClassmatesFuture Teachers of Las Vegas
Procedures:
We will begin with a self- introduction and announce our topic.
Students will be given an activity of Which Asian is Which.
Following the activity will be an explanation of population and money statistics.
The essay questions will be covered after the statistics
o During the language barrier answer, there will be a brief explanation of how difficult
some phonics are pronounced in English.
o A short video clip will help answer essay question four.
There will be a short video of racism shown.
After the reference slide a food for thought question will be asked.
Activity Details:
Identifying the origins of these Asians illustrated in the PowerPoint.
Stating how possibly wrong for people to stereotype Asians according to their appearances.
Tallying results and to make a point if perceptions are right or wrong and who it benefits.
