Part 1)

Make a directory on your hard drive, and call it


something like "mdmdrv".
This is the directory name I use in the following
Part 2.
Unzip the file you downloaded to this directory.

Part 2)
Go to Control Panel, System. Click on the "Device
Manager" tab. Look down and you'll see Modems.
Click on the little plus (+) sign beside the word
Modems. Highlight your modem by clicking on it
once.
Click on the "Properties" button.
Click on the "Drivers" tab.
Click on "Update Driver" button.
Click "Next"
Click "Display a list of all drivers....."
Click "Next"
Click "Have Disk"
Click "Browse"
Double click "c" in the right hand column.
Double click "mdmdrv" in the right hand column.
Click "ok"
Click "ok" again.
Click "Next"
If a warning screen pops up warning about wrong
drivers, click "yes", and install the update anyhow.
(This warning is standard. It just means that the driver provided is
not from your modem's manufacturer, and should be ignored.)
Click "Next"
Click "Finish"
Click "Close"
Click "Close" again,
Restart your computer.

Go to Control Panel, Internet, Connection tab,


Settings button, and specify your new modem
type.
Connect to the internet!

Note: Rockwell is now called Conexant, the


independent Semiconductor Systems division.
Same modem, different drivername.
