FIXED FIRE FIGHTING INSTALLATION - DCP SYSTEM OPERATING

INSTRUCTIONS
SITUATION: FIRE IS ON FIRE PIT - I Consider ship deck
A. Check Valve (2) shut on DCP container.
B. Check monitor is free to rotate and adjust angle. Ensure Valves: (6),(7) & (19)
are closed.
C. Open Pilot cylinder box. - Open cylinder C2 outlet Valve. Check pressure
gauges (IN & OUT) on Pressure Regulator (5).
D. Open Valve (8) to operate Nitrogen cylinders 'B'.
E. Nitrogen from cylinder 'B' through pressure regulator (3) will pressurise DCP
container 'A'-10 kg/em.
F. Open Valve (9) at outlet of Pilot cylinder C2 this will open Pneumatic Valve
(11).
NOW DCP CONTAINER PRESSURE 10kg/cm2 DCP will discharge through
monitor:- Rate 3.5 kg/sec.
G. Direct the monitor to drop DCP on Fire. AFTER FIRE EXTINGUISHES.
H. Shut Valves: (9) and (11) manually.
I. Shut Valves (8), and close Valve on cylinder 'B' - manually.
J. Open Valve (2) on DCP Tank to release Nitrogen pressure. Watch Pressure
gauge to "zero"
K. Open Valve (19)- Blow through with air, to clear/clean DCP in lines.

SITUATION FIRE FIGHTING IN ENCLOSED SPACE:- USING HOSE REEL DCP

GUN.
A. Check Valve (2) shut on DCP container.
B. Handle DCP Gun Eon Hose reel 0- Check it is free to unwind. Ensure Valves :
(8), (9) & (20) are closed.
C. Open Pilot cylinder Box. - Open cylinder C1 outlet Valve. Check pressure
gauges (IN & OUT) on Pressure Regulator (4).
D. Open Valve (6) to Operate Nitrogen cylinder 'B'.
E. Nitrogen from cylinder 'B' through Pressure Regulator (3) will pressure DCP
container 'A'-10kg/em'.
F. Open Valve (7) at outlet of Pilot cylinder C1. This will open Pneumatic Valve
(10). Now DCP container pressure 10 kg/em'.
G. Regulate Valve on hand gun E, & direct DCP on fire - Rate Max 3.5 kg/sec .
AFTER FIRE EXTINGUISHES.
H. Shut Valves: (7) and (10) manually.
I. Shut Valve (6), and close Valve on cylinder 'B'- manually.
J. Open Valve (2) on DCP Tank to release Nitrogen pressure. Watch Pressure
gauge to "zero".
K. Open Valve (20) - Blow through with air, to clear/clean DCP in lines.
