Rich,,Sonnax part # 34200-14k. Had one that would stall the engine after it got
hot. Fixed mine.

34200-14K is the part number for the line to lube pressure regulator valve. This
was designed for the complaint you describe. ( Sonnax volume 8, page 84) This e
ngine RPM fluctuation can also occur in Drive range at idle. What is occurring?
Insufficient converter clutch release oil flow. As line pressure increases, conv
erter release is reduced by the valve moving inboard. Generally, if you raise th
e RPM's slightly this condition is overcome. To diagnose: Use SonnaFlow and chec
k cooler flow at idle. Flow will fluctuate from .2 to .5 gpm. In the initial sta
ges when these trucks were under warranty GM was replacing the radiators and rep
rogramming to increase idle speed. That did not always resolve the problem and/o
