Name: Lindee Crawford
Grade Level: 10th grade
Content Area: Biology
Basic Productivity Tool Used: Narrated PowerPoint
Standards Addressed:
SB1. Students will analyze the nature of the relationships between
structures and functions in living cells.
a. Explain the role of cell organelles for both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells,
including the cell membrane, in maintaining homeostasis and cell reproduction.
Blooms Level of Critical Thinking:

Creating
Description of how to implement in the class:
The teacher will provide a brief overview of the cell and what it is. The students
should understand what cells are and what they do in our body. Students will then
create an eBook by making a PowerPoint and outlining one organelle or part of the
cell. They will create a 6 slide minimum slideshow. The students will add spoken
commentary to their PowerPoint to make it an instructional video. The students must
have a slide for each of the following:
-Title
-What does it look like?
-What does it do?
-What is one big role (in detail) that it had in the body?
-One slide of extra information

Any other slides will be given extra credit points. They will turn in this assignment for
the teacher to grade as a formative assessment. They will also present their part of
the cell to the class and complete the note sheet attached during each of their
classmates presentations. There may be projects that students must duplicate
because of the number of parts of the cell and students.

Level of Technology Implementation (LoTi): This activity is a LoTi Level 3. It is a

level 3 because it is requiring higher-level thinking. The students have to apply what
they have learned and explain that through an eBook. This focuses on what they
know about the content and is completely learner-centered, other than minor
assistance from the teacher, as well as a short review at the beginning.
