Philosophy of Education

My philosophy of education is simple, yet passionate, appropriate, and

relevant in todays society, in regards to education. I believe that all

students, especially students with special needs, have the potential and

ability for learning, which will ultimately lead to their success. I believe that

not every student learns the same way. It is extremely important to

recognize the uniqueness of every student and their unique needs. I believe

that this is the key to being an effective special educator. Special educators

must recognize and address the learning needs of their students, through the

implementation and use of appropriate strategies within the classroom,

which will meet their individual and specific needs. Instruction cannot be a

one-size-fits-all approach; instead, it needs to flexible, adaptable, and

differentiated. Through differentiated instruction, we can provide students

with individualized support, which will enable them to reach their fullest

potential. Determining the most appropriate learning environment is

certainly something that aides in supporting the students learning needs.

This allows the most appropriate accommodations and modifications to take

place, in order to better instruct the students at their current levels.

Individualized instruction, as driven by the IEP, will allow students with

learning differences to receive the equitable education, in which they are all

entitled to and definitely deserve.
