A lonely face in the fog

Just like my dreams that had once soared

in the sky, love too was lost in its depths.
She left me in the same manner as when
she came, with no words of goodbye

It was a white day. The huge green mountains which were once a part of
beautiful scenery lay veiled before
my eyes. Even the solitary daffodils
that stand in the distance were
nowhere to be seen. I looked around
me to see the sun. I saw the
thickening fog instead. I tried to
pierce this impenetrability but I
found myself oppressed by the
feeling of the immensity of the world
before my sight.

I closed my eyes to avoid the

deepening whiteness. Seconds
passed, then minutes. I stood
motionless by the window; the face
of someone I had known came into
my mind. Memories of things past
slowly hoveredrepeating the very
instances that hold caused me pain, heartache, the bitter pangs to which I almost
succumbed.

She came when I was on the verge of accepting what fate had seemingly
bestowed upon me. She came and she saw mea dreamera lover of futile
thoughts. She came and took me out of the grasps of solitude. My heart then
became prey to strange emotions which were difficult to cope with. I felt a mixture
of rapture and fear in his presence. Yet, the smell of deceit constantly lingered in
the air and somewhere doubt was born. I wanted to resist, remaining adamant to
the call of love. But the more I tried to evade her, the lesser was my courage to lose
her.

A silent kiss cameit sealed a promisea promise of lovea sweet illusion.

Just like my dreams that had once soared in the sky, love too was lost in its
depths. She left me in the same manner as when she came, with no words of
goodbye. Now, nothing is left but memories, shattered dreams and a lonely face in
the fog.
