SYSTEMS OF LINEAR EQUATIONS (3rd ESO)
Name and surname:
Group:
Notes:
1) You must do the exam clean, organized and with no orthographic faults.
2) You can only use a pen and a calculator to complete the exam. Mobile
phones are totally forbidden.
3) All the operations must be shown, not just the result.

1. Represent graphically the next system of linear equations:

{2x+x+ 2y =3
y=1

and answer the following questions:

a) How many solutions does it have? (1.25p)
b) Classify the system, according to the number of solution it has.
(0.25p)

2. Create a system of linear equations with two variables whose

solution is x=1 y=2 (1p)

3. Solve those system by using the method of resolution you may deem
appropriate (1.25p each one):

{
x +1 y1
{
a 3 x2 y=1 b 3 2 =1
4 x y=0
7 x 4 ( x + y )=4

4. Create, and justify briefly, how to obtain:

a) A system of two linear equations with two variables that has
infinite solutions (1p)
b) A system of two linear equations with two variables with no
solution. (1p)

5. In a farm, there are 25 animals. Among pigs and chickens, we have

70 legs. How many pigs are in the farm? And how many chickens?
(1.5p)
6. A hotel has 94 rooms among double and single rooms. If the total
amount of beds is 170. How many double rooms does it have? And
how many single rooms? (1.5p)
