INTERNET FOR STUDENTS

The Internet is a very useful tool for college students. Students can take guidance in learning any
subject. For example, if they have a math problem, they can easily find a tutor or help on the Internet.
Students who want to learn a different language can find websites where they can listen to tapes to
simulate a teacher. If they have to do a research work on a specific topic, all they have to do is go to
the Internet and they will find the information instantly. It also has some drawbacks such as students
waste their precious time in chatting with people without any purpose, surfing useless websites and
watching movies etc. Thus, internet is useful to college students in many ways but it can cause more
harm than benefit if used with a negative mind.

The Internet
What is the importance of the internet? This is an important question. The internet is the fastest
growing communication system in human history. Moreover, it is considered a revolution in
communication. It has several advantages. One of the main advantages is that it allows people to use
the e-mail. Another, advantage is that it stores huge amount of information that can be used around
the globe. In short the internet is the backbone of communication and knowledge in the twenty first
century.

SOCIAL MEDIA:
In the 21st century, one of the biggest technological developments has been social media. Social
media refers to websites and computer applications that allow users to create and share information,
ideas, and pictures/videos in virtual communities. Like other technological changes. social media is
changing the society. Unfortunately, many of these changes are negative. One of the most important

of these effects is confusion between the meaningful relationships we have with friends and family in
the real world and the casual relationships we have with hundreds of people online. This can weaken
real relationships. Secondly, social media disturbs professional lives too. No one can deny that social
media can help people work. Unfortunately, this can have a negative effect on productivity. Many
employees spend a lot of time communicating with friends instead of doing their work. Similarly,
students are often distracted by social media when using their computers to do their school work.
Finally, social media decreases privacy. Many people post a lot of information about their personal
lives. This information can be dangerous in the wrong hands. Social media is not going to disappear,
but by realizing some of its dangers, we may be able to limit its most harmful effects. Use social media
to your advantage. Beware of its dangers and be aware of how you are using it.

Electronic Media:
Electronic media has now become one of the most important pillars of any society. In fact, it is being
called the fourth pillar of state after executive, legislative and judiciary. The power of electronic media
is due to its reachability throughout the world. It has the power to make the innocent guilty and to
make the guilty innocent. It controls the minds of masses and plays role in opinion making. Moreover,
it has become a bridge between governments and general public. In short, the electronic media has
an unlimited power nowadays which should be regularized to avoid its harmful effects and to utilize
in a constructive way.

Wireless Communication / Wi-Fi:

Wireless communication has revolutionized our life style. First of all, it has enabled us to communicate
with each other at any place and any time. Secondly, it has made possible to connect all the devices
and appliances of daily life through a single access point using intranet within a building or using
internet for a boundary less connection. Thus, we can use Wi-Fi and internet to control our home
appliances remotely. Small hand-held devices such as mobile phones, cameras etc. are the key
elements of any wireless network and acts as endpoints of communication. Finally, we can transfer
our data and share pictures and videos over wireless connection. The benefits and feasibility of usage
clearly shows that wireless communication will never end and it will wipe out the traces of all other
forms of communication.

Problems of a Metropolitan City:

Residents of big cities usually face a large number of problems. Life there apparently seems very
comfortable and luxurious as compared to the in habitants of towns and villages but the factual
position is contrary. Karachi is considered as one of the biggest cities in the world but its residents
have been victimized by so many problems for a long time. One of the problems is the transport
system which is not at all sufficient for its population. People face great hardship in reaching their
working places and getting back, especially during the rush hours. The population of Karachi is
increasing rapidly because people keep moving to this city from other areas. This increase in
population has brought many problems which seem too difficult to be managed. There is shortage of
water, unsteady supply of electricity, worse sanitary conditions, shortage of playgrounds and parks
for the children are just but a few. This has made it intolerable for the people to live in peace. A sincere
and responsible administration is required to solve all these problems.

Pollution:
The term pollution has gained a wider significance in recent years. Pollution refers to the release of
chemical or substances into the environment that is injurious for human, animal and plant life.
Pollution has made our world hell. The major causes for this problem include massive

industrialization, increase in motor vehicles, usage of unsafe and old technologies and massive
deforestation. Violent noise and sounds are produced by the cars and giant machines. The nuisance
of the city and sewage make the water of the river as well as sea polluted. Environmental pollution is
very harmful for human life. It helps to spread out various kinds of disease like bronchial irritation,
asthma, pneumonia and cancer. In addition to the damages caused to human life, pollution has
already damaged the whole eco system a lot, including birds and marine life. Since we all know the
causes of these hazards, we should behave responsibly towards the environment as an attempt to
control pollution.

Terrorism in Educational Institutes:

Pakistan has a long history of war against terrorism but nowadays Pakistan is fighting
against the most coward enemies who attack children studying in schools who have nothing to
do with war. The worst example of this scenario was observed on 16 December 2014 when seven
gunmen affiliated with the Tehrik-i-Taliban (TTP) conducted a terrorist attack on the Army Public
School, Peshawar. This was not only the attack on a single school, it was a symbol of threat to our
whole educational system. After this attack, a National Action Plan was prepared to wipe out any type
of terrorism. Pakistan is still in a state of war against terrorism. We should all take responsibility and
play our part to reduce extremism and introduce tolerance in our society to eliminate the root cause
of terrorism.

especially after Pak-China agreement over establishing the greatest trade route of the region. Our
enemies are trying their best to prevent us from getting the status of a successful and developed
country. Enemies are using Pakistani people and Pakistani organizations for their proxy war. Thus, we
should all take responsibility and play our part to reduce extremism and introduce tolerance in our
society to eliminate the root cause of terrorism.

PSL:
Pakistan Super League tournament held in United Arab Emirates has now been a symbol of
hope for cricket lovers who want to see International Cricket back to Pakistan. The tournament
was organized under the management of PCB. There are five teams involved in this event
owned by investors, namely Karachi Kings, Islamabad United, Lahore Qalandars, Quetta
Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi. The final match of this event was held in Lahore as a symbol
of international cricket coming back to Pakistan.

Education:
Education is the most important factor for the development of human civilization. Education
provides the nation with skilled man power, promotes national unity and uplifts public awareness. A
country needs different kinds of skilled man power such as doctors, engineers, teachers,
administrative officials, economists, judges and other technical hands. Education provides the nation

with those educated hands. Secondly, if people are educated, they can understand their duties and
rights. In order to uplift human society, each should be capable to understand others. If people can
understand each other, they will be united. Thus, education can promote national unity. In other
words, to uplift the degree of awareness of the society, education plays a primary role. People can
understand what is wrong and what is right. In short, education profoundly enhances human
prosperity.

Science:
Modern science has evolved over a long period, and has now reached the peak of success.
It has worked wonders in our lives. Science has served humanity in a multidimensional
way. In the field of medical science, knowledge and research has gone to such an extent
that almost all the ailments have found a cure. Science has provided us with comfortable
ways of transportation such as motor cycles, cars, airplanes etc. Internet is one of the
biggest wonders of modern world which has made our world a global village. On the other
side if we cast our eyes on the destruction caused by science, we cannot help coming to the
conclusion that science is also the monster of death and destruction. Science has resulted
in a large number of weapons which increased mans lust to rule other people and thus
resulted in a large number of wars which caused millions of killings. Pollution is also a
gift of dark side of science. Science no doubt provides new ways of entertainment, but
these very means of amusement are bringing a sharp decline in the moral value of the
young generation and equally sharp increase in the number of crimes. In short, science
itself is neither good nor bad but it is the intention of men which makes it beneficial or
harmful.
