0 METHODOLOGY
In order to gather information to complete this report, a few methods were used to find
reference and information.
Regarding the acceptable background noise, a research was done in a room at the Kolej Pasir
Salak Damar Block of UiTM Cawangan Perak Seri Iskandar to find the details regarding the
acceptable background noise in student room. Sufficient elements were gathered but to find
more updated details internet usage was done. In detail, the information was gathered from
books, scientific journals and trusted verified websites.
To collect information and find the history of the case study building which is the Pasir Salak
College, a visit was done to the office management.
Finally, a site visit to the office management was done where we have used an instrument
Sound level meter
The devise used for this assignment was a hand-held instrument with a microphone (photo ?.?).
The device works by responding diaphragm to changes in air pressure caused by sound waves.
The device measures the sound in dB. The device is also known as the Sound Pressure Level.

1 rooms were chosen. Inside the room, 1 points approximately at the middle of the room were
taken where the sound level was measured for 10 minutes. The sound level meter is placed
approximately 1 meter from the ceiling. The data is recorded in the SD card of the Sound Level
Meter is then transferred to be analyzed in detail.
