ACOUSTIC PROBLEM

The acoustical problems that were noticed by the proponents at the Shrine of Saint
Catherine of Alexandria located at Bagac, Bataan are:

1. The church is to be found near a busy road where vehicles often pass through,
therefore, the noise created by these are easily heard inside the church. The hall
is easily intruded by high ambient noise from outside, when the mass is ongoing
and these noises are heard, the listeners are having a difficulty understanding
the speaker.
2. Some of the speakers are not properly positioned; as a result, there are places
or spots where there is non-uniformity of sound level distribution.
3. A number of speakers are present and were old enough to produce nice quality
of sound.

RECOMMENDATION

1. Sound absorber is highly recommended attributable to the noise heard outside.

2. Even or equal distribution of speakers at different places in the church is
proposed.
3. Replacing of speakers into innovative one is advised for the improvement of
sound inside the church.

CONCLUSION

As a conclusion, the Shrine of Saint Catherine of Alexandria located at Bagac,

Bataan has a small number of acoustical problems which does not have immense effect
on the acoustic system of the whole church. Still, proponents examined some diminutive
problems including the improper and unnecessary positioning of the speakers and
results in uneven distribution of sounds inside the church. Proponents also observed
that the church is nearly located at the busy road which causes unnecessary sounds
that may affect in the sound system inside the church.
