I have heard about your situation via the AUA listserv and have watched some of your
linked news stories, as well as your You-Tube dismantle video. So here are my
thoughts about your situation:

- "membrane structure" issue you are having with Elmhurst is new to me in terms
of other ordinance code precedent. Fortunately,..toore is a precedent for allowing hoop
house structures in an urban growing situation both residential and commercial
districts.

... The City of Chicago has revised their ordinance code to allow urban ag use and

accessory structure use for certain zoning designations. Hoop-houses are;illowea -
under all zoning types with certain caveats. Read it carefully and you'll see what I
mean. As the code is currently written there are no specs for how the hoop-houses
needs to be constructed per se, but at least the language of "hoop-house" is written
into the zoning code._l would recommend-that you utilize this Chicago precedent as an
example_QfElmhurst might integrate into its code .

.. .I do think the structure you built was very well planned out and executed. The end
walls are great!

... Very cur10us about how this turns out. I think DIY season stPuctures should be
allowable in backyard contexts.
