The Honorable Orrin Hatch

125 S State St # 8402

Dear Senator Hatch,

Hello my name is Cameron Iacobelli, and I am a 7th grader at Park City Day School. You need to change
your vote from declassifying Bears Ears to keeping Bears Ears a national monument. I say this because
America needs to make more open space because land that is not protected is very overpopulated.

Bears Ears is an important national monument that needs to stay. It has 1.5 million acres of land that
people can roam, seeing many sights. For instance rock art, amazing views, and my favorite of all are the
cool statues that were not formed by mankind. It is amazing about Bears Ears is its open land that just
goes on for miles and miles. If it is not it will be mined on, cause pollution for the locals/world, and
ruining the land that has plenty of history for the local Native Americans. That is as bad as someone
ruining the original constitution, wiping out one of the most important object that America has. That is
despicable, but you can protect it by changing your vote from against Bears Ears to for Bears Ears. It has
1.5 million acres of land that people can roam seeing many sights. For instance rock art amazing views
and my favorite is all of the cool statues that were not formed by mankind . The final part that is amazing
about Bears Ears is its open land that just goes on for miles and miles.

To conclude, Bears Ears National Monument protects the land, the history, and the wildlife. It would also
not be a federal overreach because many people are for it staying a national monument. This is why we
need to keep Bears Ears a national monument to save the future and your say could change it.

Sincerely,

Cameron Iacobelli
