The environmental impact of petroleum is often

negative because it is toxic to almost all forms
of life and its extraction fuels climate change. It
is used for transportation and heating for both
homes and commercial/industrial activities.
Coal has many important uses worldwide. The
most significant uses of coal are in electricity
generation, steel production, and cement
manufacturing and as liquid fuel.
Lead is a naturally occurring element found in
small amounts in the earths crust. While it
has some beneficial uses it can be toxic to
humans and animals causing of health effects.
Its used in fossil fuels.
Zinc was used to make brass and for medical
purposes, then it was turned into metallic zinc
and zinc oxide. Much of early zinc production
was from nonsulfide deposits. It has strong
anticorrosive properties and bods well with
other metals.
