Spring Break, Breaking the Environment?

62 million people are projected to travel for spring break


this year in the US only
According to a paper published in Environmental Science
and Technology, flying is 50 times worse than driving, in
terms of a 5 year global warming impact. The engines of
an airplane work by burning fossil fuel (combustion).
If you are flying, try to avoid flying at night because the
contrails of a plane at night have a bigger impact on glob-
al warming than those that fly during the day
As an alternative to flying, if youre staying in the country,
you can take a train or carpool with a friend or family
member
