I had Alexa in my Marketing 188 — Marketing Management course which is affectionately called “Officer's Candidate School”. This course is the capstone class for marketing majors here at CSUF. In this course they make five formal presentations (one that is an hour long), a comprehensive take home mid-term of 25 to 50 pages, a community business project, resulting in a full marketing plan with action strategies, and in-class product pathology evaluations. The students comment regularly that this course is the hardest in their academic career. Alexa was one of my very best. She has a very insightful side to her and has presented numerous “out of the box” solutions and ideas in class. T found Alexa to be a breath of fresh air in being both environmentally aware and personable, She helped change class momentum and involvement. She can quickly pick up on conflict and direct team members into more effective performance. I found her to be faithful over all project material and class assignments. I could always rely upon her to bring a different view point to class discussions. She is great at being able to diagnose problems and synthesize the situation down to a manageable solution. Thave taught marketing courses for 30 years, Alexa would be one of my very top students. She has the stick-to-it-ness it takes to explore opportunities in a competitive marketplace. She is willing to question when the situation needs it and when to close ranks as part of a team effort. Her leadership skills are the best I have seen in a class in 5 years.
