2. Please list the various methods for powder compaction.
a) The traditional compression moulding.

b) Dynamic magnetic compaction

c) High Velocity Compaction

It is very similar to traditional compaction, but the speed is higher
than the traditional way, 500~1000 times faster.
d) Powder warm compacting process
Put the mixed powder (iron powder, graphite powder, alloy elements
and high temperature lubricant) in preheating closed and then
compress it to molding.
e) Flow pressure molding technology
It is based on powder warm compacting process, and combine
with the advantages of metal injection molding technology.
Add the right amount of fine powder and increase the content of
lubricant to improve the fluidity, filling ability and formability of the
powder.
f) The injection molding technology
Injection moulding is a manufacturing process for producing parts
by injecting material into a mould.

3. What are the approaches to obtain full density during powder

consolidation?
a) The injection molding technology can get a high density.
b) After pressure after burn and copper infiltration are the ways to
improve the density.
c) We also can mix different size metal powder to get a high
 density.
4. What is meant by the terms microstructure and phase?
Microstructure is the small scale structure of a material, defined
as the structure of a prepared surface of material as revealed by a
microscope above 25 magnification.
Phase is a physically distinctive form of a substance, such as the
solid, liquid, and gaseous states of ordinary matter.
Microstructure is about the form, while phase is about the state.
In one phase, it can have various microstructure. Just like the metal
powders, it has different microstructure, acicular, flake, spherical,
irregular and so on. But there all are solid.
