Happiness Experiments:

Hypothesis:
I think I can change my level of happiness if I go on a walk every morning/night and write about
something Im grateful for, because studies show both being in nature. and acknowledging the
good things in ones life can increase levels of happiness.

Procedure:
- Every morning wake up 20 mins early, or leave 20 mins after school for my experiment
- Rate my happiness on a scale of 1-100
- Walk on the trial until I find a good place to sit
- Sit in silence for about a minute
- Free write about things Im thankful for
- After I get back home, rate my happiness again on a scale of 1-100

Conclusion:
My original hypothesis was that my happiness level would increase if I went outside and wrote
in silence for 10-20 mins a day. While I saw an increase in my happiness the same day, I never
really thought my sustainable happiness was increased. For example, at the beginning of the
experiment (before I went out and wrote) each day, my happiness level was around the same
every day, so my sustainable happiness every day did not increase. In conclusion, I do not think
my experiment was substantial enough to increase my sustainable happiness.
