MSS Language Pack .

cab File Extraction Instructions

Microsoft Speech Server 2004 (MSS) Language Packs include the engine resources, support files, and
documentation that developers need to develop and deploy MSS R2 speech-enabled Web applications in
languages other than U.S. English (the default language).

The MSS Language Pack Web download page provides two options for downloading the Language Pack:
A high-bandwidth download option consisting of a single file that contains all of the Language Pack
content.
A low-bandwidth download option consisting of a series of .cab files and a file labeled
LangPack_LangID_Extract.exe.

The following instructions apply only to the files that you download if you choose the low-bandwidth download
option.

Before proceeding with the following instructions, ensure that you have all of the Language Pack .cab files
saved in the same temporary directory as LangPack_LangID_ExtractAll.exe. LangPack_LangID_ExtractAll.exe
was included in the same self-extracting file from which you extracted these instructions
(LangPack_LangID_Extract.exe) and is located in the same temporary directory as these instructions.

To extract the content of the .cab files

1. From a command prompt (click Start, click Run, type cmd in the Open box, and then click OK),
navigate to the temporary directory. For example, type the following at the command prompt:
cd C:\LangPack_LangID
2. Run LangPack_LangID_ExtractAll.cmd to extract the full image from the .cab files to a new installation
directory. For example, type:
LangPack_LangID_ExtractAll.cmd C:\LangPack_LangID\Setup
Note This may take several minutes to complete.
