Concluding my learning on Personality, Perception and Attitude I can summarize the

class session as follow:

PERSONALITY:

The word personality is derived from the word persona which means the aspect of
someone's character that is perceived by others it includes his or her motivation,
perception, learning and other aspects. Personality is a combination of Physical and
Psychological aspects. In OB we concerned with the psychological aspects that
include beliefs, values, norms, perception motivation etc.

Personality can be studied in three dimensions

1. Self esteem.
2. Person-situation interaction.
3. Socialization process

SELF ESTEEM: Self esteem is how we feel about ourselves. It is an important trait of
personality. High self esteem leads to positive feelings, attitude and satisfaction.
With high self-esteem we can make decisions confidently and even if our decision
leads us to failure we can face the failure boldly.

PERSON-SITUATION INTERACTION: Its about how an individual react with different

situation. In different situations individuals behavior varies. In particular human
behavior is not static but instead it is flexible.

SOCIALIZATION PROCESS: Socialization process is concerned with behavior of

individual with the new people in the work environment, behavior with other group
members in a group setting.

ATTITUDE:

Attitude which is specific response to different situation has the following

components:
1. Informational regarding beliefs of an individual
2. Emotional - regarding the feelings of an individual
3. Behavioral

TWO BEHAVIOURS IN OB:

1. Job Satisfaction - which comes from supervision, opportunities, work it self, pay
and co-workers. Outcome of job satisfaction is consistent performance of
employees.

2. Job Commitment - it results in lesser employee turnover
