The American music influence at our music did not start with rockn roll as

everybody thinks. It started with Jazz. Its rhythm had influenced so much the
Brazilians samba. Despite the initial influence of Jazz in Brazil, the master of
USA influence was rock and roll. The strong rhythm was born on the 50s
and started to make a large success here in Brazil on the 80s. But why did
rock become so famous? The fact is that rock isnt just music, but also
attitude. The young people wanted to be like their idols, dressing like them
and have rebel attitudes. Nowadays, we can see technological beats in our
music, and we called it pop-rock music.

The pop music does not limit only in the music environment, it is present in
fashion and the construction of styles. People want to do everything to look
like their divas. The influence of these American rhythms inspires the
creation and variation of our own rhythms; it helps to enrich our culture.

Nowadays, the American music is in our radio stations, TV programs, events

and parties. More than 70% of the music play is American, or sung in
English. That reflects the big influence of the USA in Brazil
