Deputies were given Permission to enter the residence from the new owner. Upon entering the residence deputies found the remains of 3 cats and 1 dog, Deputies, Photographed the scene and exited the house Deputies mace contact with Lisa Morrison, the previous owner ofthe propery. Morrison stated in 2 noncustodial interview that she had buried the dog in her back yard and had given the cats away. Deputies then stated to Morrison that they had been through the house and had found the remains ofthe ‘animals. Morrison then stated that due to the ground being frozen that she could not Buy the dog. Morrgon stated thatthe dog died in Api or May of 2014 Deputies expined to Morrison that the ground was fikely tobe soft then du tothe melting snow. Morrison then stated thatthe ground was to arc fo gig a hole. Deputies asked about the cats and Morrison stated that she was feeding ther, came back 3 days afterwards that they were ‘shredded " Deputies stated that the only way thal was possible isi they nad been attacked, Morison stated tha the cats had ded after the dog had some time in August of 2014. It should be noted thatthe room the cats remains were found it was full of feces. DDeputos nad a Veterinarian come and examine the remains of the animals. The Veterinarian stated that Morrison had not provided a hospitable tenvronment fr the animals. The Veterinarian stated that it was possible asser thatthe dog had died most recently due fo maggot remains onthe body. The cats showed no such evidence of Maggot breakdown. The Veterinarian also stated that wth some ofthe skeletal bones scattered it suggests thatthe animals fed on the deceased. The veterinarian also stated that is highly unlikely that these arimals ded in such a short time frame due to, ‘isease. The veterinarian staied that another logical explanation is that they were consumed slowly by a communicable flea andlor worm infestation Giving the owner pinty of time to Seek medical counsel.
