his argument is unconvincing and has flaws in several critical respects.
First of all, the author states that many long term supporters of their station
have written a complaint and described this as un-American bias. But the author
fails to provide the number of supporters that complained about the change of m
usic. If the percentage of listeners dissatisfied with this change in music is n
egligible, then it implies that most of the listeners are not bothered by this c
hange to Latino and World music.
Secondly, the local newspaper has published an editorial critical to this shift
in music. However, it is possible that the local newspaper editor himself/hersel
f is biased. The editor might be chauvinist and any domination of latino or cosm
opolitan culture on American culture would irate him/her. Thus the local newspap
er could be unreliable and prejudiced.
Furthermore, by dicontinuing the Latino and World music there are fairly chances
that the radio station might lose its current Latino and World music loving lis
teners. Hence this assumption is completely baseless. It is fairly possible that
the current population is demanding some other sort of music like pop music, ro
ck music etc. Hence it cannot be assumed that restoring the time provided to Ame
rican Folk music would lure back the lost listeners.
