I had the great opportunity of being Allie’s Supervisor Teacher in the Fall Semester of 2016 in her T-kindergarten class at Hawkings 2 in Chula Vista. This Spring Semester of 2017 | continue to work with Allie in my EDUC 535 Class: Curriculum Design and Assessment. My observations of Allie in her classroom are one of authentic relationships. She has a deep and nurturing connection with all her students. Allie gets energy from her students as they learn and grow. Allie has an enthusiasm for learning, and always continues to learn and grow herself as an educator. She not only listens to understand, but asks questions in order to challenge herself to bring her students the highest quality of education. Her demeanor in her class engages her students and motivates them to learn. | have witnessed Allie implement lessons to her students that promote 21° Century skills and inquiry. Allie continuously looks for new ways to target all learners, through small groups, pairs, class community, and collaboration among her students. She sees the power of sharing each other's ideas and being proud of their accomplishments. Allie sets professional goals for herself to allow her students to benefit at all times. Allie is not only a strong educator in the classroom, but takes her skills and hunger for growth to her colleagues and is respected by all Allie is currently taking her lessons to deeper levels by seeing a larger picture with the end assessment in mind, posing essential questions and providing opportuni for inquiry and discover for student centered learning experiences. She is also thinking with the eyes of an assessor to enhance the outcomes of her student's progress and need for next steps. As | continued to work with Allie, she demonstrates great knowledge in her ability to question her students to become 21* century learners and become life ready. It has been a pleasure getting to know Alexandra Outcalt. She has so much to give our children and a true gift to education. Thank you for considering her for your position.
