AS Film Studies - Production Planning: Location Report
For my AS Film Studies project portfolio, following a textual analysis of two
Action/Adventure films; Divergent (2014 - US) and Skyfall (2012 UK) in which I have explored and studied how both Directors, Neil Burger and Sam Mendes, represent protagonists in their respective films, I have continued to develop my portfolio by planning a creative artefact based upon the ideas from my textual analysis. Therefore, I will implement their attributes and philosophies, reflecting the codes and conventions of the Action/Adventure genres and the main characters in them.
My intention is to create 9 key frames based in Action/Adventure genre,
based upon my Location Report here, consisting of two images, that show the environment that I intend to use in other to create my artefact I chose this location in other to be able to build up tension and make my 9 key frames look as creditable as possible.
Location: Alleyway
My whole sequence will be in this dark
alleyway in Newbury Park. I have chosen this location as accessible to film not just for me but also for actor and my actress as is close to school this will also mean that we dont have to travel far and this is the main thing that makes it convenient for all of us. This location will also help convey the idea of danger and mystery in terms of cinematography will be using a variety of different camera shots such as medium close up, long shot and low angle to help to build up tension. I have also chosen this location as in terms of looks it has the characteristics that I am looking for to incorporate in my 9 key frames.
