I am pleased to be able to write a letter of recommendation for Angel Calderon, a

student whom it has been my pleasure to have this year in my Advanced Placement
Language and Composition course at NOVA Academy Early College High School.
Angels dedication to his studies is certainly his greatest asset in my course. AP
demands a larger percentage of a student's time outside of the classroom, and holds
students to a higher level of accountability than typical high school level classes. Angel
has risen to the challenge of the course, and has maintained an above average grade level
in this, and in his other classes. In fact, at the time of this writing, Angel holds a GPA of
3.89 (weighted) and is one of the members of his Student Government.
Angel has also demonstrated a great ability to work with others, helping to plan
and organize within the school, a multi-year member of the schools Leadership Program,
Angel has had to rise to the challenge of working with students, parents, teachers,
administrators, and community members. Angel has helped to organize fundraisers,
dances, back to school night, club events, and many other community building aspects of
our school.
Finally, Angels most outstanding quality is his attention to detail. While
achieving great academic success in his high school course, Angel has also been
attending college courses, as well as being a class leader on the NOVA campus. His
meticulous planning, note-taking, and organization have helped him to succeed where
many others his age would have been overwhelmed. He always sets his goals high, but
not beyond his reach.
I believe that Angel will prove himself to be an asset to any university, and I wish
him all the success in the world.
